Andhra Pradesh is set to make a significant mark in quantum technology with the development of a 'Quantum Valley' in its capital city, Amaravati. This ambitious initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, aims to position the state as a global hub for quantum computing research and innovation, aligning with India’s ₹6,000 crore National Quantum Mission.
The Quantum Valley is envisioned as a world-class quantum computing hub, integrating cutting-edge research and applications in quantum computing, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and other transformative technologies. Andhra Pradesh aims to replicate its success in the 1990s IT revolution by securing a first-mover advantage in quantum technology.
The project involves partnerships with leading institutions and corporations:
IIT Madras: Academic and research support.
TCS (Tata Consultancy Services): Expertise in AI, data science, and cloud-based quantum applications.
IBM: Technological breakthroughs in quantum computing.
L&T: Infrastructure development.

A dedicated task force has been established to oversee the development of the Quantum Valley, including infrastructure planning, investment strategy, and talent acquisition.The initiative will be integrated into Amaravati’s broader DeepTech Research Park, encompassing a 150-acre facility designed for cutting-edge research and international collaborations.
The Quantum Valley is expected to drive advancements across sectors such as defense, healthcare, logistics, finance, energy, and space technology.By attracting top-tier researchers and global investments, the project aims to boost economic growth while strengthening India’s position in the global quantum landscape.
The project aligns seamlessly with India’s National Quantum Mission (2023–2031), which focuses on advancing quantum computing, communications, sensing, and materials research. Andhra Pradesh’s efforts are poised to contribute significantly to this mission by fostering multi-institution collaborations and practical applications of quantum technologies.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the transformative potential of quantum technology:
“Just as we led the IT revolution decades ago, Andhra Pradesh will lead advancements in quantum technology. This initiative will not only benefit our state but also position India as a leader in future computing.”
At the All-India Research Scholars Summit 2025 at IIT Madras, Naidu announced plans for a Quantum Valley Tower, likening it to Silicon Valley but focused on future computing technologies.
