Google experienced a major service disruption on Wednesday, with thousands of users reporting issues accessing Google Search, according to outage monitoring platform Downdetector. Users said search queries failed to process and results pages would not load, prompting a surge of complaints across social media as disruptions were observed in multiple regions.
Data from Downdetector indicates that nearly 7,000 reports have been logged so far. Approximately 45% of affected users cited problems specifically with Google Search, while 38% reported content failing to load. Another 12% said they were unable to access the website altogether.
Outage maps suggest the disruption is concentrated across major US metropolitan areas, including San Francisco, New York, Washington, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago, among other regions.
