The company’s Chief People Officer, Ram Sundararajan, confirmed this shift during HCLTech’s recent quarterly earnings announcement. He stated that the tech firm aims to match the “general assessment from the industry” that about 15–20% of available new talent is AI-ready. By strategically investing in a workforce skilled in AI, machine learning, data science, and other advanced domains, HCLTech is preparing to meet both internal and client-driven demand for digital transformation.

Over the past two quarters, HCLTech has sharpened its focus on cultivating an "elite cadre" of employees equipped with advanced technical expertise. These professionals, particularly in AI, cybersecurity, data engineering, and enterprise IT, command compensation packages significantly higher than standard fresher roles. In some instances, salaries for elite engineers are three to four times those of typical fresh graduates, especially for roles in cutting-edge services and software divisions.

Why Politicians in India Need to Get Over Their Tech Insecurity

HCLTech’s overall fresher intake target for 2025 stands at over 10,000 hires. The company has already released offer letters covering a substantial portion of these positions, with opportunities spread across both campus and off-campus recruitment drives. Advanced hiring assessments are designed to identify candidates with foundational programming, cloud, and machine learning skills.

Freshers entering specialized and AI roles will undergo intensive training programs that integrate technical workshops, domain-specific project simulations, and real-world case studies. Such structured onboarding ensures a talent pipeline well-versed in both the theory and practice of advanced digital solutions.
