With the wave of AI sweeping across industries, educational institutes are tightening their focus on advanced technological learning. As part of this shift, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has announced four new online executive programmes in artificial intelligence, machine learning and technology leadership.
Designed with an industry-oriented approach, the curriculum focuses on the practical application of AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs), generative systems, and agent-based frameworks. The institute added that the programmes prioritise real-world deployment and system design over purely theoretical learning.
Applications for IIT Kharagpur’s newly launched online executive programmes are open to working professionals and follow a simple online process.
Candidates must visit the official portal at online.iitkgp.ac.in, select a course such as Generative AI, Applied AI and Machine Learning, or AI Leadership, and complete the registration with personal, educational, and work details. Shortlisted applicants will be informed via email and issued an offer letter.
Selected candidates must then pay a seat-blocking fee to confirm admission, followed by document verification and payment of the remaining course fee. The programmes will be delivered in live online mode by IIT Kharagpur faculty and are aimed at professionals with prior experience in technology and related fields.
The institute said the programmes span executive postgraduate certificates in Generative AI and Agentic AI, AI-Native Software Engineering, and Applied AI and Machine Learning, along with an Executive Programme in Technology and AI Leadership. These courses are being offered through multiple academic units, including the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Department of AI, and the Partha Ghosh School of Leadership.
