The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has transferred 10 state-of-the-art space technologies to six Indian companies. Facilitated by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), this initiative is set to deepen private sector participation, accelerate indigenisation, and reduce reliance on imported technologies in critical domains such as satellite launch, ground station infrastructure, and geospatial intelligence.

The transfer of these advanced technologies marks a significant step in empowering Indian industry to commercialise space technologies for both space and terrestrial applications. The agreements, signed in a tripartite arrangement among NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), IN-SPACe, and the recipient companies, grant private players access to ISRO’s extensive R&D and innovation in space.

Two Advanced Inertial Sensors

Laser Gyroscope and Ceramic Servo Accelerometer developed by ISRO’s Inertial Systems Unit. Transferred to Zetatek Technologies (Hyderabad), making it the first Indian firm to acquire such precision navigation technology, previously imported. These sensors are critical for satellite launch vehicles and inertial navigation systems.

Ground Station Operations Technologies

S/X/Ka Tri-band Dual Circular Polarised Monopulse Feed. Tri-axis Antenna Control Servo System. Ku/C/L and S Band Cassegrain Feed. Transferred to Avantel and Jisnu Communications (Hyderabad), both specializing in end-to-end communication solutions for space and defense. These technologies will boost self-reliance in ground station infrastructure, a domain often dependent on foreign vendors.

Geospatial and Industrial Applications

Geospatial Models for pest prediction and crop yield estimation, transferred to Amnex Info Technologies (Ahmedabad). Portable Bathymetry System for water body mapping, granted to Jalkruti Water Solutions. Ceramic-based Flameproof Coating for industrial use, transferred to Ramdev Chemicals.
