After Apple and Meta’s Ray-Ban collaboration set the stage for AI-powered eyewear, India’s own Lenskart is stepping into the spotlight with its upcoming ‘B by Lenskart’ Smart Glasses.

AI is rapidly reshaping the way we live, and wearables with built-in intelligence are fast becoming the next big frontier. The concept isn’t entirely new, the first mainstream attempt came back in 2016 with Snapchat Spectacles, designed mainly for content creators. Fast forward to today, and Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses have pushed the category further with real-time AI assistance and camera integration.

Now, Lenskart aims to bring that innovation home. Its upcoming ‘B’ Smart Glasses will reportedly combine Google Gemini AI and a Sony camera, marking a major leap for India’s consumer tech scene. The smart glasses are expected to debut by the end of December.

Lenskart CEO Peyush Bansal unveiled a preview of the smart glasses' design, featuring a traditional wayfarer style with cameras at the front and speakers at the frame's end. Additional designs and possibly prescription options might be available at launch.

What Are ‘B by Lenskart’ Smart Glasses?

The product, named B by Lenskart Smartglasses, has been recently unveiled by the brand, focusing on its main features. These smart glasses from Lenskart weigh 40 grams, which is said to be 20 percent lighter than similar smart glasses. For instance, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses have a weight of 48 grams. Lenskart's smart glasses are equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, the same one used in the Meta Ray-Bans.AI-Powered Features of the glasses

AI-Powered Features

Lenskart’s upcoming ‘B’ Smart Glasses are set to blend everyday convenience with powerful AI features and a built-in Sony camera for hands-free use.

  • Sony camera enables quick, hands-free photo and video capture.

  • AI assistant powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Live for intelligent real-time support.

  • Hands-free capabilities include:

    - UPI payments for seamless transactions.

Lenskart vs Meta

Lenskart intends to open the platform to independent developers and consumer apps for various services like food delivery, entertainment, and fitness. With more features, the B by Lenskart Smartglasses could surpass the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. If priced correctly, it could become more accessible to the general public. For reference, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 glasses are priced at Rs 29,900 in India.
