Post-deadline, voice features will still be available via chatgpt.com, along with iOS, Android, and the Windows application. OpenAI emphasizes that no additional macOS features will be discontinued.
According to OpenAI, recent updates have already brought Voice mode closer to standard chat interactions on mobile and the web, allowing users to review earlier messages and engage with visual content while speaking.
The company has indicated that the current macOS Voice feature might not align with its future strategy. Mac users can keep using the Voice mode until mid-January 2026. Following this period, voice interactions will need to transition to other compatible platforms until a possible macOS update is released.
