This technology automatically translates, dubs, and lip-syncs videos while preserving the original voice tones. The company is expanding its AI-driven translation feature for Reels on Instagram and Facebook by adding Hindi and Portuguese, building on the initial English and Spanish options launched in August. Zuckerberg shared this news through a series of video clips.

"Big news for Reels: we're launching translations using Meta AI in more languages. It's available for Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish and English now and we're working on adding more soon. Check it out!" he said in one of the videos.

Netizens with 1,000 followers on Facebook and public Instagram profiles are eligible to utilize this complimentary service. Users have the ability to manage language settings, and all translated material is distinctly marked.

Meta AI, as stated by the company, replicates the original voice tone and sound of the creator to generate translated audio that preserves authenticity in different languages. Additionally, the system includes an optional lip-syncing feature that aligns the translated audio with the speaker's mouth movements, enhancing the naturalness of the viewing experience.

Meta offers free AI translation to Facebook creators with over 1,000 followers and all public Instagram accounts in eligible areas. Viewers have the option to adjust language settings, and translated Reels are marked as 'Translated with Meta AI.' Users can turn off the translation or revert to the original audio using the three-dot menu.
