As the foldable phone market heats up, Motorola’s first-ever notebook-style foldable is expected to make its debut in 2026, positioning itself to compete with rivals like Samsung in the premium foldable segment.
After months of leaks and rumors, new details have emerged about Motorola's highly anticipated flagship foldable phone. According to tipster Evan Blass, the device could be called the Razr Fold, a name hinted at by an image shared on X (formerly Twitter). The slide, which appears to be part of an internal marketing presentation, reveals some unverified information about the device, including insights into its camera system and display features.
Since 2019, Motorola has been expanding its range of clamshell-style foldable phones. However, the much-anticipated Razr Fold would represent the South Korean smartphone giant's entry into the notebook-style foldable market, which is currently led by Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7. The popularity of foldable phones is increasing, as a Counterpoint Research report predicts a 38 percent rise in shipments of these devices in the coming year, with book-style models anticipated to be at the forefront.
Motorola unveiled a teaser for its latest flagship smartphone last week, which is set to debut at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, USA. The major technology exhibition is scheduled to begin tomorrow, January 6, and will continue until January 9, 2026. “On January 6th, we’ll set a new bar for what a flagship device can be. Stay tuned as we enter into our new signature era at Lenovo Tech World 2026 in Las Vegas,” Sergio Buniac, the president of Motorola Mobility, said in a LinkedIn post.
