Piaggio, a prominent player in the commercial vehicle segment, has expanded its electric portfolio in India with the highly anticipated launch of the Apé E-City Ultra and Apé E-City FX Maxx electric three-wheelers. Both the Apé E-City Ultra and FX Maxx deliver a reliable, real-world range of 110km on a single full charge ideal for city commutes and urban last-mile operations. The FX Maxx is equipped with an 8kWh lithium-ion battery, while the E-City Ultra boasts advanced lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery technology. Charging is simplified with off-board charging solutions, suited for commercial operators.

Powering these vehicles is a robust electric motor with a peak output of 7.4–9.55kW and torque of up to 45Nm, offering enough grunt for fully loaded city runs and steep inclines. Both models feature “Climb Assist Mode” for added gradeability and stability. Smart onboard features like a digital cluster, intelligent telematics (4G-enabled for live tracking, geo-fencing, and remote immobilization), as well as active energy and battery health monitoring, provide superior control and peace of mind for fleet operators and individual owners.

Piaggio offers a competitive 5-year or 2,25,000km warranty, reinforcing the vehicles’ low total cost of ownership and reliability proposition for commercial users.

These latest additions target India’s rapidly growing demand for eco-friendly and economical commercial vehicles, with a special focus on passenger and goods movement in cities. The vehicles’ durable full-metal body, high ground clearance, and proven drivetrain make them perfectly suited for Indian road conditions while enabling businesses to reduce their operating footprint.

With rising fuel costs and stricter emission norms, Piaggio’s electric three-wheelers offer a sustainable alternative without compromising day-to-day practicality or profitability for small businesses, auto drivers, or logistics services.

Piaggio’s Managing Director emphasized that electric three-wheelers are leading India’s transition to cleaner mobility and act “as tools for economic empowerment.” By addressing both the environmental impact and the bottom-line needs of drivers and operators, the Apé E-City Ultra and FX Maxx are poised to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in key markets across India.
