Prime Minister Modi hailed the recent unveiling of the 'Made in India' 4G Stack as a major accomplishment, stating, "India has now become one of only five countries globally with this capability."
Following the inauguration of the 9th India Mobile Congress (IMC 2025), Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that IMC events have expanded beyond just mobile and telecom sectors. In a short span, this event has evolved into Asia's largest digital technology forum. This achievement is a testament to India's tech-savvy mindset, driven by the youth and talented individuals of the country, and propelled by our innovators and startups.
Touching upon the spread of 5G in India, PM Modi remarked, "When I first spoke about 'Make in India,' many ridiculed it... In the past, it took a considerable amount of time for new technology to reach India. But the nation has responded. The same country that once struggled with 2G now has 5G connectivity in almost every district".
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) are co-hosting IMC 2025. Scheduled for October 8 to 11, the event will focus on the theme 'Innovate to Transform,' emphasizing India's dedication to using innovation for digital advancement and societal development.
IMC 2025 is set to highlight the newest developments in telecommunications and emerging technologies, gathering global leaders, policymakers, industry specialists, and innovators. The event will concentrate on crucial themes such as Optical Communications, Telecom Semiconductors, Quantum Communications, 6G, and Fraud Risk Indicators, mirroring India’s strategic priorities in next-generation connectivity, digital sovereignty, cyber fraud prevention, and global technology leadership.
