With the growing influence of AI, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has established a new fully-owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Limited, to venture into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technology. The company notified the stock exchanges that it obtained the incorporation certificate from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 9, 2025.

This announcement was made through a filing to the BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) on September 10, after the market closed. RIL's shares ended the day at Rs 1,377.50 on the BSE.

Reliance Industries officially launched Reliance Intelligence, its new AI subsidiary first announced at the AGM on August 29, 2025. Chairman Mukesh Ambani said the unit will build AI-ready, gigawatt-scale data centres powered by green energy, and focus on four key areas: infrastructure, global partnerships, sector-specific AI services, and talent development. Work on the first centres has already begun in Jamnagar.

Collaborations with Google and Meta

RIL has revealed expanded collaborations with Google and Meta as a component of its AI strategy. Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet Inc., Google's parent company, stated, "Google and Reliance are collaborating to transform all of Reliance's businesses through AI, spanning Energy, Retail, Telecom, and Financial Services. To facilitate this AI integration, we are jointly creating a Jamnagar Cloud region, specifically designed for Reliance."

The CEO of Meta announced that the two firms will establish a joint venture to provide 'sovereign, enterprise-ready AI platforms designed for Indian businesses and government bodies' by merging open-source models with Reliance's extensive network.

'Our goal is to ensure AI access for everyone in India — and ultimately superintelligence,' he stated. Ambani informed shareholders, 'Jio brought digital services to every corner of India. Reliance Intelligence aims to bring AI to every Indian.'
