On Monday, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that it is integrating Google Photos with its AI TV lineup, allowing users to easily relive their cherished memories from the comfort of their living room. From travel highlights to everyday moments, the feature aims to provide a seamless and immersive experience, enabling families to rediscover their favorite memories on a larger screen.
“Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes that experience even more personal,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display (VD) Business of Samsung Electronics.
“Through this partnership, we help users rediscover and relive cherished moments by bringing to light the stories behind their photos, right from the comfort of their living room.”
Samsung’s Google Photos integration will allow users to view and organize photos on a larger screen, categorized by people, places, and events. This feature will enhance the photo experience, complementing Samsung’s Vision AI Companion for more immersive viewing.
Samsung's Three New Features: Memories, Create and Personalised Results
Memories: Presents selected narratives centered around individuals, places, and significant events.
Create with AI: Presents themed templates based on 'Nano Banana', the image creation and modification model by Google DeepMind, offering whimsical and entertaining transformations. Users can also use 'Remix' to alter an image's artistic style, or 'Photo to Video' to animate still images into brief videos.
Personalised Results: Users can watch a slideshow of related images categorized by themes or memory contents such as the ocean, hiking, Paris, and more.
Features and Rollout Details
Samsung will integrate Google Photos into select TV models starting in 2026, with the feature available on models from the Crystal UHD U8000 Series and above. Users will need a Google account and backed-up photos/videos to use the service. The integration will allow users to display their photos and memories on the TV screen, organized by categories like people, places, and events.
Features will be rolled out in stages, with availability depending on model and region.
The Google Photos Memories App will offer users the ability to select or hide memories for display on the TV.
The Google Photos Memories widget will be available through Samsung’s Now Brief on supported models.
Select AI-driven creative templates will be exclusive to Samsung TVs.
Features like "Create and Search" and "Personalized Results" are planned for release in the second half of 2026.
