Tesla is set to accelerate its Indian growth strategy, finalizing plans to launch its second showroom at Delhi’s Aerocity by the end of July 2025. This major retail milestone comes shortly after the U.S. electric vehicle giant opened its first Indian showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex on July 15, 2025, signaling its formal entry into the country’s consumer automotive market.

The new Tesla showroom in Delhi will be located within the Worldmark complex, a prestigious business and lifestyle destination minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to industry sources, Tesla has secured a 4,000-square-foot lease for the space, reportedly at a rental value of ₹25 lakh per month. Aerocity is widely recognized for its concentration of luxury hotels, Fortune 500 company offices, and high-end retail outlets, aligning with Tesla’s global strategy of situating showrooms in elite commercial districts.

This upcoming Aerocity location is not just a retail point but a crucial part of Tesla’s brand building and market assessment in India. Initially, the focus will be on showcasing Tesla’s vehicles and building customer awareness, rather than establishing full-scale service centers. The move underscores Tesla's measured rollout approach and its confidence in the Indian market’s growth prospects.

Coinciding with the showroom launch, Tesla has announced plans to roll out four dedicated charging stations across New Delhi, equipped with a total of 16 Superchargers and 15 Destination Chargers. These stations will serve both the Aerocity and surrounding areas such as Saket, Noida, and Gurugram. The brand has already installed similar EV infrastructure in Mumbai, reflecting its aim to develop a robust electric mobility foundation for Indian customers.

While the company has yet to announce plans for local vehicle production, government officials and industry observers remain optimistic about Tesla’s long-term ambitions, including the potential establishment of manufacturing and R&D facilities.

In a statement, Tesla reiterated its commitment to hiring Indian citizens to lead the company’s local operations, promising homegrown leadership for one of the world’s top automotive brands. In addition, Tesla continues to innovate for Indian customers by providing over-the-air software updates and emphasizing its autonomous driving and Optimus AI technologies.

Tesla’s arrival is widely anticipated to boost India’s evolving electric vehicle industry and reinforce the country’s standing as a fast-growing EV market. With the Model Y already listed at an on-road price starting at ₹59.89 lakh and initial supplies being imported from its Shanghai plant, Tesla’s local footprint is set to increase steadily. Expanded showrooms, charging infrastructure, and sustained brand visibility position Tesla to become a mainstay in India’s future mobility landscape.
