Vivo is the latest brand in India to increase prices of select smartphones. Driven by rising demand for RAM from AI data centres, smartphone makers are reportedly paying higher prices for components, especially RAM. Vivo is likely feeling the impact of this ongoing supply crunch.
The Vivo India website now lists revised prices for select smartphones, including models from the V70 lineup as well as the T5x and Y series. The change was initially noticed by tipster Abhishek Yadav. The increase ranges between Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000 depending on the device. Vivo’s spin-off brand iQOO has also updated the prices of the iQOO 15R and iQOO Z11x in India.
As per an X post by tipster Abhishek Yadav, the revised prices came into effect on April 21, with increases ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 4,000 across several models. These updated prices are also visible on the official Vivo India website. The Vivo T5x has seen a uniform price hike of Rs. 4,000 for all its variants. The 6GB + 128GB model is now listed at Rs. 22,999, up from Rs. 18,999, while the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB versions are now priced at Rs. 24,999 and Rs. 26,999, respectively.
