PUNE:  With an aim to make the app-based cab service in the city more customer-friendly, Shopicab, a new ride-hailing service will be starting its service in Pune from January 2020.

The company has proposed that it will not apply surge-prices for the cab service at any time of the day, unlike other cab services.

“We will be starting with 2,000 cars across the city in the beginning. We are initiating our service in Pune and Kolkata first,” said Shopicab Chief Financial Officer Rajesh Sharma.

The company has planned to target Mumbai and Delhi in the next phase, followed by Bangalore and Hyderabad. Sharma added, “In the next five years, we will be trying to reach another 75 cities in around 10 states.”

“There are several issues that the customers are presently facing with the cab services, surge prices at peak hours is amongst the major ones. Also, many times, the cabs are not booked immediately. We are looking forward to address these issues,” said Shopicab Managing Director and Promoter Chittaranjan Roy. Along with being customer-friendly, Shopicab will also be providing training to its driver for better driving skills and overall conduct with the customers.
