Most of us expected flying cars in 2020, but all we got in return was a pandemic! But perhaps the route to the future is not all that far. After all, robots and AI have slowly begun to replace us across sectors. And while that could be a cause of concern in the future, for now, robots doing a 'happy dance' is what keeps us hopeful about what's to come.
A recent video posted by Boston Dynamics, creators of robots with advanced mobility, exhibits four of their robots grooving (and lip-syncing!) to The Contours' iconic track 'Do You Love Me'. The company featured three of their popular robots, christened as Atlas the 6-feet humanoid robot, Spot the four-legged canine-like robot, and Handle -- the robot with two legs and a hand.
"Our whole crew got together to celebrate the start of what we hope will be a happier year," stated the company on its official Twitter handle. "Happy New Year from all of us at Boston Dynamics!" the Tweet said, following it was a link to the video.
The robots dance effortlessly, and some may even argue that they're better at dancing than most humans are! Several users on YouTube expressed their hysteria in the form of comments. While many find the dance routine hilarious, some users expressed their concern. "In the future we will must to dance this song or we will killed by the robots," a YouTube user wrote. "so... not only robots are gonna take over our jobs... but they're also gonna steal women too with those sick dance moves?!?!" another one wrote.
Boston Dynamics has often made the headlines for its advanced robotics in the past. Considered as a world leader in mobile robots, the company claims to be tackling some of the toughest robotics challenges. Most of their robots make use of the principles of dynamic control and balance with sophisticated mechanical designs, cutting-edge electronics, and next-generation software for high-performance robots equipped with perception, navigation, and intelligence.
