Dia Mirza prepares for her new web series ‘Kaafir’

Sakal Times

Last seen in the hit film Sanju, Dia Mirza will begin shooting for her first web series that she signed on recently. According to sources, the series is titled Kaafir, is being directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Siddharth Malhotra for OTT platform Zee 5.

In what is touted to be a drama based on a true story, Dia will be seen playing the protagonist. “In order to construct her role with absolute authenticity, Dia worked with ace workshop director Atul Mongia. Writer Bhavani Iyer is believed to have crafted a layered and challenging role for the actress,” says a source.

Dia was firm that she would start shooting only after she got the prep right. “A workshop is an intense study,  an exploration of the character one is playing. For me personally, getting to know the character is extremely important. The process of discovering the person I am playing is exciting. Working with Atul was a unique and wonderful experience. This is the most challenging part I have ever played and I feel so lucky to be a part of story that is based on true events,” says Dia.
