Intimacy is not a big deal anymore in films: Digangana

Sakal Times

Actress Digangana Suryavanshi, who started her career with television show Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera and went on to do three Bollywood films — Fryday, Jalebi and Rangila Raja, will now be seen in a bold avatar in her debut Telugu movie, Hippi opposite Kartikeya. The film is being talked about for a steamy kissing scene. But Digangana feels, “I don’t think the audience will go to watch a movie for an intimate scene. The audience has evolved and wants content. The new generation wants something new and fresh.”

The scene, she adds, was necessary to drive the story ahead. “I was not at all awkward or nervous while doing the scene. In fact, while doing the scene, it was planning and technical details that occupied my mind. I want to grow as an actor and do different and challenging roles and take out the best version of myself to the audience.”

Hippi will be releasing on June 5. Reports also suggest that the actress will be soon seen in a big banner Bollywood movie but no official announcement has been made yet.
