Admit it, deep down every Indian starts humming their favourite monsoon song as the first raindrop hits earth every year. But there is one more thing that Indians love as much as their films — their food. After the scorching heat, monsoon brings a breath of fresh air by bringing the aromatic fragrance, cheerful moods and of course, fried food cravings. During monsoon, the dullest becomes vibrant with glistening greenery all around and the scent of rain fills up the senses. To enjoy this season in an unforgettable way, we bring to you a list of food items that you can indulge in.
My favourite go-to monsoon drink is Caramel Macchiato from Coffee Jar. Coffee Jar is a laidback, cosy cafe in Wanawadi. They have courteous staff, good music, and great coffee at a very reasonable price. Along with this, they also have great pastries and sandwiches which complement the coffee just perfectly.
If you ever find yourself in Wanawadi, make sure to visit Coffee Jar. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Tawaa Burger from Shalimar, Ranigunj, Hyderabad, has always been a delight in the monsoons. Filled with a perfectly crisp patty of paneer, cheese, chopped capsicum, spice and a whole lot of love, this place serves burgers which are indeed one of a kind. Shalimar is a tiny outlet owned and run by two brothers who also sell the best Pani Puri and Pav Bhaji. It is also popularly known for their Schezwan Dosa, which almost requires 25 minutes of preparation time. It is also the spiciest dosa I have ever had, but it is totally worth everything. The eatery is extremely pocket-friendly and one of the best I have ever been to.

My forever go-to eatery, especially during monsoon, is Cafe Good Luck for Bun Maska with Irani Chai. Located near FC Road and Deccan Gymkhana, the cafe invites a lot of student crowd. The cafe is extremely pocket-friendly with comfort food that can never go wrong. The 84-year-old cafe remains unchanged even today despite the renovation of the entire area around it. The food is freshly prepared and has tie-ups with Zomato, Swiggy and other hyper-local deliveries. They serve everything in large quantities and you never have to worry about the quality as well.

Where Else Cafe in Viman Nagar has been my all-time favourite monsoon hangout. Their thick dark chocolate is perfect for a rainy day even if you are sitting by yourself. It is sold at a reasonable price and has a taste quite unique when compared to the other dark chocolates. The great ambience just adds to it, looking out of the window on a rainy day or reading a book while enjoying the same never felt so peaceful.
