Rishi Kapoor insults journalists

Sakal Times

Rishi Kapoor reportedly asked journalists to leave from a book launch in New Delhi, dismissing them off-handedlly as being there for free food and alcohol. Rishi was launching a book on his father Raj Kapoor, whose 93rd birth anniversary was on Thursday. The book is authored by his sister Ritu Nanda.

Rishi ran into three journalists covering the launch on the invitation of the publisher. The actor, known for his short fuse and no-holds barred tweets, became instantly hostile, according to the IANS account.

An ‘agitated’ Rishi asked, “Aap log kaun ho (who are you people)?” When the journalists presented their credentials, the Kapoor & Sons actor walked off, reportedly muttering “muft ki daru,” according to IANS.

Later, his personal security then arrived and reportedly turned the journalists out, saying, “Mr Kapoor doesn’t want you guys here, please leave.” When a representative of the publisher requested the hotel security in-charge to intervene, the latter said: “You know how Rishi Kapoor is. He has created a scene at our hotel twice in the past.”

The publisher, who invited them to the event, apologised but also added that there are many ‘stakeholders in such events that involve celebrities. Twenty minutes after the event started, he returned to invite them inside the venue.
