Having started his career about 18 years ago, his work has made Dancehall popular all over the world. Not only has he given us ultimate party anthems like Get Busy, We Be Burnin, and the nostalgic favourite Temperature, he has also been a part of awesome collaborations that have resulted in hits like Give it up to me with Keyshia Cole, Baby Boy with Beyonce, or more recently No Lie with Dua Lipa, Cheap Thrills with Sia, Hair with Little Mix, and Rockabye with Clean Bandit, among others.
When he made his debut performance in India in 2012, we saw him show off his effortless swag on stage in Noida. But on Sunday, he is coming to Pune to perform at the VH1 Supersonic 2018.
Fashion designer Neeta Lulla designed the outfits for the Chainsmokers, American EDM-pop duo, when they came to perform in Mumbai and Delhi last September. She has also designed outfits for international artists Akon, Steven Seagal, Tyra Banks, KSHMR, Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo and Martin Garrix when they visited India in the past.
For the Jamaican star’s outfit, Lulla says, “It’s a jacket in warm gold to complement his musical persona. We have used the craftsmanship of traditional zardosi workers by utilising Lucknowi detailing on purple velvet shoulder pads with gold tassels on textured woven bronze fabric.”
With lots of gold because substantial shine is required, and purple because it’s a powerful colour, Sean Paul is going to own the stage.
