Shehnaz Is Not That Dumb

Debarati Palit Singh

Shefali Bagga was considered one of the strongest contestant on Bigg Boss 13. But the news anchor got evicted from the reality show along with Rashami Desai and Devoleena Bhattacharjee. Several reports claim that it’s only Shefali who has been evicted and the TV actresses has been kept in a secret room, but nothing has been confirmed by the channel yet.

Post her eviction, Shefali said that she was shocked with the turn of events. “I am very disappointed and surprised because I don’t think I deserved to be out of the show so early. There are people who are not doing anything but are still part of the show, which is even more surprising. I had thought that I will go far,” she said.

Many assumed that the reason she received less votes was because of what happened last week during one of the task. Shefali questioned Punjabi actress Shehnaz Gill’s character and even pointed out that she liked getting close to the men in the house. Her statement was not only criticised by host Salman Khan but social media users too. “I don’t think that’s the reason. Shehnaz plays it dumb but she is not that dumb. She is very smart and abusive. She was provoking Siddharth Dey, trying to touch him and crossing her limits. Siddharth kept asking her not to get physical with him and if a boy is not comfortable, then she should have stopped it. It was a situation that was created and every women in the house supported him.” She adds that she never meant to call Shehnaz ‘characterless’. “I just said what I saw but it was taken in the wrong manner. I was being held responsible. Some people will have different point of view and I, therefore, apologised. But that doesn’t mean, she was right. She was very rigid and made several negative comments about my character. That was very ugly and I reacted to that.”

Her failure to be part of any of the two groups also worked against her. I am a very strong woman and individual,” says Shefali. “I don’t really need anybody in the game. No matter, which group you are part off, you have to play the game and tasks on an individual level. Many are playing with their groups but whenever needed, you have to play individually,” she says, adding, “Whenever I was performing the tasks in the groups, I have given my 100 percent.”

Though she is out of the show, Shefali says that she had a good time on the show and it was an amazing experience. “I have learned a lot of things and I am taking it back with me.”

Ask her how is playing the best game and she replies, “Siddharth Shukla because is he is manipulative.” She believes that Siddharth, Paras Chhabra and Shehnaz has the potential of being the top three contestants.”

As the topic moves towards writer Siddharth Dey, with whom she bonded inside the house, she says that she plans to stay in touch with him outside. “In fact, we are planning to collaborate on few shows,” she says before signing off.
