After Aamir Khan and R Madhavan, Paresh Rawal tests positive for COVID-19

Actor Paresh Rawal has tested COVID-19 positive. The 65-year-old actor tweeted to inform about his health and asked those who have come in contact with him in the past few days to get themselves tested.

"Unfortunately, I have tested positive for Covid-19. All those that have come in contact with me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested," he tweeted.

On March 9, the actor had shared on the micro-blogging platform that he has received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Popularly known for his role as ‘Babu Bhaiya’ in Hera Pheri, he took to Twitter and shared a picture, flashing the victory sign at a vaccine centre. "V for vaccines! Thanks to all the doctors and nurses and the front line health care workers and the scientists. Thanks @narendramodi," Rawal tweeted.

His wife, actor and life skills teacher Swaroop Rawal also had received the first jab of the vaccine. "Follow the leader... I got my #COVID19Vaccine did you?" the 62-year-old actor had tweeted on March 6.

Reacting to his tweet, friends, colleagues from the industry and fans expressed concern and wished him a speedy recovery.

"Get well soon my friend @SirPareshRawal. Love and prayers always!" tweeted Anupam Kher.

"Get well soon Paresh Bhai ... God's Speed," commented Rahul Dev.

"Wish you a speedy recovery, Sir!" shared Ranvir Shorey.

Recently, many Bollywood celebrities have tested positive for coronavirus. This week, actors Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Rohit Saraf and Kartik Aaryan informed that they have tested positive. According to reports, Aamir's spokesperson said, "Mr. Aamir Khan has tested positive for Covid 19. He is at home in self-quarantine, following all the protocols and he’s doing fine. All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern."

Rawal will next be seen alongside Farhan Akhtar in the upcoming boxing drama Toofan. The film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra also features actress Mrunal Thakur. Toofan is scheduled for a May 21 premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
