Alia Bhatt gives it back to trolls

On Wednesday, Alia posted a reel on Instagram showcasing her royal appearance in a bespoke ivory silk saree-gown. In the comments, one user wrote, “What a pity, no one noticed you,” adding a laughing emoji. Alia, however, responded calmly and with poise. She replied, “Why pity, love? You noticed me :).”

Fans quickly filled the comments section, applauding the actor for her composed yet cutting response. One admirer wrote, “I understand why people are upset, she nailed every look.” Another added, “Both the outfits and the comebacks are on point.” A third commented, “Wow, you completely outshone her with this, you stole the whole spotlight at Cannes.” Another user simply wrote, “Savage response.” Someone else remarked, “The queen is clapping back with so much grace.”

Earlier, actor Aly Goni had also come out in support of Alia against online trolls. Posting on Instagram, he wrote that it is disheartening when our own people try to bring down someone who has worked tirelessly to place India on the global stage. He praised Alia Bhatt for achieving what many only dream of, representing the country at Cannes with dignity and pride. He added that, rather than mocking and trolling, people should celebrate and support those who make India shine internationally, noting that we rise as a nation when we uplift our own instead of trying to belittle them.
