Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan keeps winning over the internet with her straightforward and funny YouTube vlogs. However, a standout feature of these videos has been her cook, Dilip, who has gained viral popularity himself. In a recent chat with Soha Ali Khan on her YouTube channel, Farah discussed how this surprising online fame has transformed both her career and Dilip's life.
Farah Khan discloses that she has cleared all of Dilip's debts
Farah mentioned that although Dilip was already doing well before YouTube, the vlogs' popularity opened up new opportunities. She disclosed that she had enrolled his children in an English-medium school and assisted one of his sons in pursuing a culinary diploma.
Farah revealed that Dilip had been silently dealing with financial difficulties. She mentioned, 'He was burdened with a significant amount of debt, though I'm unsure of its origin. The past year was spent settling his debts and advising him against taking further loans with interest, as my contributions were being wasted. I have now cleared all his debts, and he is currently constructing his house.'
Farah also mentioned that she is currently engaging with brands to assist Dilip in his next significant move, which is obtaining a home without financial burden. She stated, 'I am attempting to involve numerous brands so that we can provide him with the house at no cost.'
Previously, in a vlog, Dilip disclosed that he initially worked in Delhi for only ₹300, but his starting salary at Farah's residence was ₹20,000. Farah noted that although he began with twenty thousand, his salary has now grown considerably. She also added that Dilip earns additional income or a portion of the profits from their YouTube vlogs.
Dilip's cooking videos featuring Farah
Farah began her vlogging journey after her team urged her to start. She selected Dilip to join her on-screen and provided him with punchlines for their videos. Their humorous exchanges quickly made him an internet sensation. They earned their first Silver Button with only their second vlog, and Farah now has 2.48 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
In addition to their cooking videos, Farah introduced a travel vlog series with Dilip, marking his inaugural international journey to the Maldives. Dilip has also appeared in numerous advertisements, including collaborations with Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani for Myntra, as well as promotional activities for Flipkart, among other brands.
