LOS ANGELES - On Wednesday, Travis Kelce spoke publicly for the first time about his celebrity-filled wedding to Taylor Swift, describing it as "the best night of my life" and expressing thanks that "the AC was cookin'" amid a heat wave in New York City.
Kelce answered reporters’ questions during the Kansas City Chiefs training camp in Missouri as the team readies for the NFL season kicking off in September. While most inquiries focused on football, a few journalists sought information about the private wedding ceremony that took place at Madison Square Garden. It was an incredible offseason,” Kelce said.
“The wedding was the greatest night of my life, and I’m grateful to everyone who came, celebrated, and enjoyed it with us.” He remarked that it had been "a wild night" filled with festivities.
The 36-year-old NFL standout and the 36-year-old pop singer wed on July 3 before roughly 1,000 attendees, among them high-profile figures like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Brady, and numerous Kelce teammates. Comedian Adam Sandler presided over the ceremony. According to guests, the couple transformed the iconic sports arena—home to the New York Knicks—into an opulent garden-like setting.
It’s pretty amazing to fulfill my childhood dream of being in that arena—the ultimate sports venue—and to actually get married there,” Kelce said. “We’re grateful to the MSG owners for giving us the chance to do it, understanding that we wanted a private ceremony and all. It turned out perfectly.
He also expressed his gratitude for the arena’s air conditioning. "The AC was really working, baby," he remarked. "That was the best part."
