The video was recorded at Nadeem Tarin (NT) Hall, where a student named Ayyuba is running for a representative position, likely Hall Secretary. What started as a routine campaign speech soon turned into a highly engaging moment, drawing a large crowd of students who were laughing, cheering, and chanting his name.

"I Won’t Make False Promises"... Yet Then Came a Downpour of ACs, Metros, and Swimming Pools

Ayyuba began his speech in a composed manner, saying, “As you all know… I will not make false promises.” Yet within moments, the atmosphere in the hall completely changed as he shifted into full-fledged campaign theatrics.

He continued, saying, “These days it’s extremely hot, so I will give everyone an AC,” pledging air conditioners for every student. He didn’t stop there and further declared, “We will install five ACs in the annexe.” The crowd immediately erupted in cheers.

The speech grew even more animated when he declared, “I will build a swimming pool in NT,” prompting loud laughter and applause. He went on, “The college is very far from NT… so I will start a METRO,” which drove the students into a frenzy.

Ayyuba also pledged, “There will be a washing machine on every floor,” and followed it up with a crowd-pleasing promise: “If I become Secretary, everyone in NT will get tea three times a day.” By then, the hall had transformed into a full-fledged celebration, with students repeatedly chanting, “Long live Ayyuba!”

Social media turns it into a meme fest

After the video appeared on social media, it quickly went viral. Users circulated clips on various platforms, transforming Ayyuba’s speech into meme content while also enjoying its humor and lively delivery.

One user quipped, “This man has turned out to be an even bigger fraud than Modi.” Another commented, “And you’ll even get a lock at AMU,” while a third added sarcastically, “Whoever wrote his speech must have been settling a personal score.”

However, the responses were not entirely sarcastic. Many students applauded his confidence and command of the stage, describing him as “a future leader” and “the real crowd-puller.” One comment said, “Hai ye lakhon dilon ki dhadkan, ye yuwa neta hai,” while another remarked, “Engineers can do anything except engineering. Long live Ayyuba.” The most widely shared reaction captured the frenzy succinctly: “Revolution aa ke rahega ab.”

AMU student elections are known for their energy and theatrics, but Ayyuba’s speech added a fresh layer of international charm and humor. Speaking fluent Hindi and fully embracing the local election style, he blended into the campus culture in a way that took many by surprise.
