Pune: Rudra Ritesh Sawant, a student from Anekant English Medium School in Baramati, has earned the honor of being selected for the Indian baseball team that will compete in the upcoming Asian Baseball Championship in Japan.

The championship, scheduled to take place from November 23 to 28, 2024, will feature teams from across Asia in the under-12 age group.

Rudra, a 6th-grade student, has shown remarkable talent in baseball at a very young age, earning him a spot on the Indian team for this prestigious international tournament.

His sports teacher, Rekha Dhangar, has played a key role in nurturing his talent and guiding him in the sport.

School President Jawahar Wagholikar, Secretary Milind Wagholikar, School Committee President Chandravadan Mumbaikar, and Principal Richa Tiwari Diwan extended their congratulations to Rudra and his parents, praising his hard work and dedication.

As Rudra prepares to represent India on the international stage, his achievement has brought immense pride to his school and the Baramati community.

Recently, Baramati native and former student of Tuljaram Chaturchand College, Radhika Milind Shah (Wagholikar), was recognized on the international stage with an honorary fellowship at the prestigious IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders) Congress held in Melbourne, Australia.

Radhika Shah was the only Indian selected among ten recipients worldwide, an extraordinary achievement considering the global scale of the event, which featured participants from 73 different countries.
