Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, who coined the slogan Go Corona Go tests positive for COVID-19

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday

Mumbai: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday. Athawale who is the President of the Republican Party of India (A) attended the party’s event on Monday where model Payal Ghosh joined Republican Party of India (A) in Mumbai.

In April, the security guard posted at the residence of Athawale tested positive for the infection.

On Tuesday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar too tested positive for the coronavirus. “My Covid-19 test report is positive. On the doctor’s advice and as a precaution I have been admitted to Breach Candy hospital. I would like to tell everybody that there is no need to worry. I’m fine and will be with you after taking some rest,” the deputy chief minister said in a statement issued.

Last week, Former Chief Minister and Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis also tested positive for the infection.
