Police reported that a young man in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly allegedly took his own life after going live on Facebook following an argument with his wife. The incident occurred in the Izzatnagar police station jurisdiction and has left his family devastated.

The deceased, known to his relatives as Sunny Kumar, also called Rahul, resided in Haldwani with his wife, Kajal, and their three children. He was engaged in work associated with religious rituals and ceremonies.

Wife Had Returned To Her Parental Home

Family members stated that a few days ago Sunny and his wife had an argument, after which Kajal went back to her parents’ home in Paharganj with their three children.

Sunny is said to have travelled from Haldwani to Bareilly on Sunday evening. After arriving home, he spoke to his wife on the phone. Shortly after the discussion, he started a Facebook live stream from a room, according to his family.

The Facebook Live broadcast, which ran for about five minutes, was later discovered by his family and sparked panic among relatives. The incident has attracted significant attention on social media, with the video reportedly being shared among individuals who know the family.

Police Examine Phone, Call Records

After the incident, police seized Sunny's mobile phone and started reviewing his call history and the Facebook Live video to determine what occurred prior to his death.

Investigators are also interviewing family members and relatives from both sides to establish the circumstances surrounding the marital conflict.
