Ex-Army Personnel Sachin Wagh Transitions to Maharashtra Police Force

Wagh, who was recently selected as a Pune Rural Police Constable, had joined the Indian Army in 2003 after completing intensive training.

Pune: Sachin Shivaji Wagh, a retired Army personnel from Khanapur (Taluka Haveli), has set an inspiring example by transitioning to the Maharashtra Police Force after serving the nation for 17 years in the Army.

Driven by his passion for serving the country, Wagh successfully cleared the 2024 Police Recruitment Examination conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.

Wagh, who was recently selected as a Pune Rural Police Constable, joined the Indian Army in 2003 after completing intensive training. During his military career, he was posted in some of the most challenging regions, including Uri, Kashmir, Babina (Uttar Pradesh), Ganganagar in Rajasthan, and Punjab. He retired from the Army's 83 Armored Regiment in January 2023.

To celebrate his achievement, a felicitation ceremony was organized by the Shivnagar Mitra Mandal at Khadakwasla. The event saw the participation of prominent community members and supporters, including Nitin Wagh, Datta Kolhe, Gokul Karanjawane, Sandeep Mate, Saurabh Mate, Janardan Lohakare, Umesh Vasave, Saurabh Mokashi, Chandrakant Wagh, Vijay Lohakare, Sarang Bhopte, Digambar Kolhe, Avinash Sarode, Swapnil Wagh, and Sagar Wagh.

The program was led by Ganesh Lohakare, Praveen Daswadkar, Vishal Shelar, Ashok Padwal, and Darshan Dhumal. Prof. Sunil Shinde conducted the proceedings, while Ganesh Lohakare expressed gratitude to all attendees.

Speaking at the event, Wagh shared his journey: “After retiring from the Army, I couldn’t rest knowing that countless soldiers have sacrificed their lives for our country’s protection. I wanted to continue contributing to society. With disciplined planning, dedicated study, regular exercise, and my family’s support, I cleared the police recruitment examination. I am now determined to serve the nation with even greater enthusiasm.”
