Fatal Accident: Car Hit by Speeding Container on Shirur-Satara Highway

The deceased has been identified as Manojkumar Soniabapu Auti (age 32, resident of Ralegansiddhi, Parner Taluka, Ahmednagar District).

Pune: An accident involving a container and a Swift car at Nagargaon Phata on the Shirur-Satara Highway resulted in the death of one person and serious injury to another. The collision occurred in front of Hotel Annapurna on Monday (August 5).

The deceased has been identified as Manojkumar Soniabapu Auti (age 32, resident of Ralegansiddhi, Parner Taluka, Ahmednagar District). The seriously injured person is Sagar Raosaheb Bhujbal (resident of Bhujbalvasti Pohegaon, Kopargaon Taluka, Ahmednagar District).

A complaint regarding the incident has been filed by Labhesh Ganpatrao Auti (age 39, farmer, resident of Ralegansiddhi, Parner Taluka, Ahmednagar District) at the police station.

Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the container driver, Datta Changdev Sonawane (resident of Kingaon, Ahmedpur Taluka, Latur District). According to the police, the accident occurred in front of Hotel Annapurna at Nagargaon Phata in Shirur Taluka.

Container driver Datta Sonawane was driving the container (NL 01 AE 8252) at high speed and collided forcefully with the Swift car (MH 12 HZ 7577) in which Manojkumar Auti was traveling.

Auti sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot, while Sagar Bhujbal was seriously injured and has been admitted to the hospital.

Following the complaint filed by Labhesh Auti, a case has been registered against the container driver Sonawane, and further investigation is being conducted under the guidance of Police Inspector Jotiram Gunjavte.
