Fatehchand Ranka Re-Elected as President of Pune Saraf Association

In the category of 50-Year-Old Progressive Jewellers, the awards were presented to Dilip Sonigra Jewellers and Shripad Shankar Nagarkar Saraf.

Pune: Fatehchand Nagraj Ranka has once again been re-elected as the President of the Pune Saraf Association, marking his eighth consecutive term in the position.

The election took place during the association's general assembly, where other key members were also elected unopposed. Abhay Gadgil has been chosen as Vice President, Amritlal Mangilal Solanki as Secretary, Rajendra Somnath Waikar as Joint Secretary, and Kumarpal Ghishulal Solanki as Treasurer.

The upcoming year is a significant milestone for the association as it will celebrate its 100th anniversary on January 1, 2024. To mark this important occasion, a series of events were organized during the general assembly.

The meeting commenced with a seminar covering critical topics such as Hallmarking, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), and the Hallmark Unique Identification (HUID) system.

Expert guidance on these subjects was provided by Mumbai-based Chartered Accountant Bhavin Mehta.

In an effort to keep its members updated on relevant legal and industry changes, the association also publishes a quarterly magazine, "Suvarnapatra."

The latest issue of this magazine was ceremoniously released by Sanjay Ghodawat, Chairman of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group. The editorial team for "Suvarnapatra" is led by Editor Shailesh Ranka and Co-editor Jayant Randhir.

The event also saw the presentation of several prestigious awards. Govind, also known as Ajit Vishwanath Gadgil, was honored with the Pune Saraf Lifetime Achievement Award for 2024.

In the category of 50-Year-Old Progressive Jewellers, the awards were presented to Dilip Sonigra Jewellers and Shripad Shankar Nagarkar Saraf. Additionally, Yogendra D. Ashtekar and Vishal Ganesh Verma received the Progressive Young Jeweller Award, while Shivendra Jewellers and Manish Jewellers were recognized as Progressive Wholesale Traders.
