Under the guidance of the Commissioner, crime branch units, senior police officers, and the traffic department are working together on security arrangements. Night patrols will be intensified, and special teams will remain on alert to respond immediately to any incident. Police officials have also been directed to take decisive action against absconders and repeat offenders under laws such as MCOCA and MPDA.

CCTV surveillance will play a key role this year. Ganesh mandals across the city have been instructed to install cameras, directly linked to the central police control room, to help monitor suspicious movements. Dedicated squads and the wireless department will keep constant watch to ensure public safety.

Traffic management remains a major challenge during the festival. To avoid congestion and stampede-like situations in crowded areas, the traffic branch has been asked to prepare a detailed plan. Additional teams will be deployed along immersion routes to maintain smooth flow and minimize disruption.

Commissioner Kumar appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police during the celebrations. “Ganeshotsav is the cultural identity of Pune. It is everyone’s responsibility to celebrate within the law and help maintain peace,” he said.
