Gaurav Ahuja Issues Video Apology, Announces Surrender as Police Continue Search

Gaurav Ahuja, has promised to surrender within the next eight hours. A case has been registered against Ahuja and his friend Bhagyesh Oswal at the Yerawada police station

Pune: Gaurav Manoj Ahuja, who created a public nuisance at Shastrinagar Chowk in Yerawada, by urinating at a traffic signal while intoxicated and driving a luxury car, has now released a video apologizing for his actions. Gaurav Ahuja, has promised to surrender within the next eight hours.

The incident, which occurred around 7:30 AM, led to public outrage after videos of the act surfaced on social media. According to police reports, Ahuja, in a drunken state, stopped his BMW in the middle of the road and urinated in public. When confronted by locals, he responded with obscene gestures.

A case has been registered against Ahuja and his friend Bhagyesh Oswal at the Yerawada police station under charges of public nuisance, indecent behavior, and obstruction of traffic as per the Motor Vehicles Act. Police constable Ganesh Thopte filed the complaint.

Police Investigation and Action

Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav confirmed the details, stating that the police promptly took action after the video went viral. While Bhagyesh Oswal has already been taken into custody and undergone a medical examination, Gaurav Ahuja remains at large. Authorities are actively tracking him, according to Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingle.

Political Reaction: Call for a Crackdown on Public Misconduct

Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, strongly condemned the incident, calling for stricter enforcement against such behavior. She emphasized the rising trend of reckless actions by privileged and intoxicated individuals, urging the police to initiate a special operation to enhance public safety.
