Hadapsar: Elderly Man Assaulted by Neighbor Over Bathroom Soiling

Pune: A 76-year-old man from Vaiduwadi in Hadapsar sustained injuries after being assaulted by his neighbor during a dispute.

The elderly individual, who has difficulty controlling his bodily functions due to his age, was attacked in the early hours of October 14 when his neighbor accused him of soiling the bathroom.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the elderly man, unable to control himself, had an accident before reaching the bathroom. After attempting to clean himself and his clothes, he returned home.

His neighbor, identified as Santoshkumar Yadav, began shouting and causing a commotion. Hearing the noise, the elderly man came downstairs, only to be confronted by Yadav, who accused him of making the bathroom dirty.

Yadav then assaulted the man, grabbing him by the neck and slamming his head against the wall, which resulted in injuries and bleeding from his head and nose. The complainant’s son rushed him to Sassoon Hospital for medical attention.

A complaint was lodged at Hadapsar Police Station following the incident. However, upon determining that the location fell under the jurisdiction of Wanawadi Police Station, the case was subsequently transferred there.

Recently, in an incident reported from the Kothrud area, an elderly woman was drugged with sedatives mixed in lemonade, leading to the theft of her gold jewelry, cash, and mobile phone, totaling ₹1.56 lakh. The Alankar Police have registered a case against a woman suspect named Sonali, who is accused of carrying out the robbery.
