The cancellations come after 62 IndiGo flights were grounded on December 3 and 20 on December 2. The ongoing chaos led to protests by stranded passengers on December 3, with a video of Goa-bound travelers arguing with CISF personnel at Terminal 1 over a delayed flight going viral.

IndiGo said in a statement, "We acknowledge that IndiGo's operations have been significantly disrupted across the network for the past two days, and we sincerely apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused."

"A multitude of unforeseen operational challenges including minor technology glitches, schedule changes linked to the winter season, adverse weather conditions, increased congestion in the aviation system and the implementation of updated crew rostering rules (Flight Duty Time Limitations) had a negative compounding impact on our operations in a way that was not feasible to be anticipated", it added.

The airline said it has implemented calibrated schedule adjustments to contain disruptions and restore stability over the next 48 hours. It added that teams are working around the clock to ease passenger inconvenience and ensure operations stabilize, while affected customers are being offered alternate travel arrangements or refunds where applicable.
