Pune: The Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (IAGE) and the American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) successfully concluded their prestigious Annual Conference 2025 in Pune.
Recognized as a landmark event in the field of gynaecological endoscopy, the conference gathered over 600 gynaecologists from across India, along with 18 international experts and 250 Indian faculty members, to discuss the latest advancements in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Themed “Innovate, Operate, Elevate,” the conference served as a platform for medical professionals to exchange ideas, refine surgical skills, and explore the future of gynaecological healthcare. The event featured leading experts from Italy, France, Europe, America, and Turkey, including the President of AAGL, who shared their expertise on cutting-edge developments in laparoscopic surgery, endometriosis management, and reproductive healthcare.
Live Surgeries and Cadaveric Dissections Enhance Learning
One of the major highlights of the conference was the demonstration of 38 live surgeries by both national and international faculty members. These surgeries were conducted at Galaxy Hospital and Symbiosis Medical College and broadcasted to attendees at JW Marriott, Pune. Additionally, a live cadaveric dissection session at Symbiosis University provided hands-on insights into advanced surgical techniques and anatomical precision.
The conference was led by Dr. Sunita Tandulwadkar, Organizing Chairperson, President of FOGSI, and Head of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, IVF & Endoscopy at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune. A pioneer in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, Dr. Tandulwadkar emphasized the significance of continuous learning and technological integration in advancing patient care. She was supported by Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar and Dr. Ashish Kale, who played key roles in organizing and executing the event.
During the event, Dr. Kalyan Barmade from Latur was officially appointed as President of IAGE, while Dr. Sujal Munshi from Ahmednagar took over as Secretary of IAGE for the 2025-26 term.
