Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar tests positive for COVID-19

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Monday tested positive for novel coronavirus. He is admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Few days back, Ajit Pawar had tested negative for the COVID-19 but was under home isolation.

"I have tested positive for COVID-19 and my health is in good condition. As a precautionary measures, I am admitted to Breach Candy Hospital. I request all citizens of the state, leaders, office bearers, activists of all political parties in the state including not to worry. I am well and will return after resting for a while," the statement read.

Recently, the Deputy Chief Minister had visited Baramati, Indapur and Solapur areas to review the situation caused amid the heavy rains in the state. He was under home quarantine last week after he complained of fever and fatigue. The deputy CM recently attended official meetings, including those of the state cabinet, via video-conferencing.

Meanwhile, Former Chief Minister of the state and Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis also tested positive for the infection on Saturday.
