BJP sweeps Jalgaon, Cong-NCP leads in Sangli

Pune: In the municipal corporation polls held two days ago in Jalgaon and Sangli the BJP & Congress-NCP got mixed success. The BJP swept 57 seats out of 75 in Jalgaon while Cong NCP combine took lead on 22 seats out of 78 seats in Sangli.

In Jalgaon local political heavyweight Sureshdada Jain received a major setback as his party could not win even a single seat. Shiv Sena stood second by winning 14 seats in Jalgaon. In Sangli, Cong BJP combine led on 22 seats while BJP was sluggish taking lead only on 9 seats till afternoon.
