Pune: Parts of Maharashtra will witness cold conditions later this week, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

KS Hosalikar, Head, Regional Meteorological Center, Mumbai in his tweet said, “Winter Returns !! Parts of Northern Mah could see a winter like spell from mid week ... Will update...”

According to Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai, “Dry weather is expected over the region during next five days. There will be gradual fall in temperatures by 2-4 degree Celsius. The fall is expected over the region from January 19 during subsequent three-four days.”

“Maharashtra is currently experiencing southerly-southeasterly wind, which is bringing in some moisture, leading to cloudy and overcast sky conditions mainly during the afternoon. These clouds form at higher altitudes and will not cause rainfall,” Anupam Kashyapi, head, Weather department, IMD, Pune was quoted by saying as Indian Express.

January this year reported mixed weather where many parts of Maharashtra saw unseasonal rains in the first week to the prevailing hot conditions for many districts.
