PUNE: A platform which helps you express yourself is back. The country’s biggest drawing competition, ‘Sakal Drawing Competition’, will be held on January 12, 2020. It will be held simultaneously at 2,000 centres across Maharashtra and Goa.
The country’s biggest and most popular contest among students has seen participation of over one crore students in last three decades. This is the 34th year of the competition.
Last year the competition saw a participation of nearly 7.45 lakh students from Maharashtra and Goa and was recorded in the ‘Asia Book of Records’ and India Book of Records for being the largest competition.

The competition is also popular among specially abled students, and students from various ashramshalas.
Sakal believes that ‘Children are our future’, and thus keeping that view in mind, it also has publications like Sakal NIE and Sakal Young Buzz. Sakal Drawing Competition is one of the important ingredients in it.
Students from Class 1 to 10 can participate in the competition. The group ‘A’ will consist of Class 1 and 2, Group ‘B’ of Class 3 and 4, Group ‘C’ Class 5 to 7 and Group ‘D’ Class 8 to 10.
Like every year, Sakal will provide paper while participants have to bring their colours. An exhibition of the paintings of winners will be held later.
Competition will take place in 4 groups
Time: For Group A and B the timings will be 11.30 am to 12.30 pm
For Group C and D the timings will be 9 am to 10.30 am
