Fire in Mumbai building, over 90 evacuated

Mumbai: A portion of a multi-storey Beaumonde building in Prabhadevi area was engulfed in a fire today, officials said. 

There were no casualties in the blaze which was reported at 2.08 pm and spread to the 32nd floor, the fire department officials said, adding it was doused after nearly five hours. 

Over 90 people were safely evacuated from the building, the officials said.

At least 10 fire engines, two quick response vans, five water tankers have been put in service to douse the fire. 

Senior Police Inspector of Dadar Police Station said a case will be registered and an investigation held to find out if there was any kind of negligence, he added.
