Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader took to Twitter to address his followers and request those who came in contact with him to stay in isolation.

In his tweet, Fadnavis wrote, "I have been working every single day since the lockdown but now it seems that God wants me to stop for a while and take a break! I have tested #COVID19 positive and in isolation."

He also mentioned how he has been advised medication and isolation by doctors. “Those who have come in contact with me are advised to get covid19 tests done. Take care, everyone !,” he has said in a follow-up tweet. He is currently in-charge of the party's Bihar state election campaign.

On Wednesday evening, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had also some symptoms of the Covid-19 but he had tested negative for the coronavirus infection. Still, Pawar has isolated himself and has been working from his official residence 'Devgiri' in Mumbai.
