Maharashtra announces Rs. 50 lakh for members of women’s cricket team

Mumbai: Maharashtra government on Friday announced Rs 50 lakh reward each for the members of the Indian Cricket team, who played recently concluded Women World Cup Cricket tournament.

State Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar moved a congratulation proposal on floor of the House in presence of three women players Poonam Raut, Mona Meshram, Smriti Mandhana- along with manager of team and physiotherapist.

State Sports Minister Vinod Tawade also congratulated the team of Indian Women Cricket team for their achievement, saying, ‘’We are proud of it.’’ The state government has decided to reward them with a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh to each player and government is also considering to provide an accommodation to the players, who do not have their own home in the state.

Opposition leader Dhananjay Munde and Congress senior leader Narayan Rane also congratulated them and wishes for their future success to win world cup.
