MOA celebrates Maharashtra Orthopaedic Day

Pune: Around 13,500 patients received free OPD consultation over a week in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Aurangabad, Thane, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, Nagpur, Tembhurni, Latur, Beed, Amravati, Solapur, Dhule, Nandurbar, Akola and Chandrapur to mark Maharashtra Orthopaedic Day by Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association (MOA). Public awareness lectures were also organised across the state about road safety protocols, wearing of helmets and the importance of Golden Hour. 

Maharashtra Orthopaedic Day is celebrated on May 1 as MOA day all across the state. Free OPD camps were conducted in all districts along with public awareness lectures on topics like road safety, arthritis prevention, back pain, osteoporosis treatment and golden hour. Other programmes that were conducted were blood donation camps, distribution of road safety pamphlets, tree plantation, distribution of Jaipur foot and radio talks.

Lectures on the golden hour and importance of helmets were taken up to make roads safer and equip general public to deal with road accidents. MOA President Dr Parag Sancheti and others played an important role in organising these activities.
