Monsoon update: Heavy rains in Vidarbha, Kokan, Goa in next three days

Pune: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Vidarbha, Kokan and Goa region while light to medium rainfall in Marathwada and central parts of the state. Pune city will receive light showers in the next four days, the IMD has said.

In the last 24 hours, slight rainfall was received in some parts of Central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha region. While the remaining regions of the state received medium to heavy rainfall.

According to the IMD, in the next four days Central Maharashtra region will receive light rainfall and thereafter medium rainfall. Monday (June 23) onward, Marathwada region will receive light to medium rainfall up to Wednesday (June 25).

IMD officer Anupam Kashyapi said, "Pune city and surrounding region will receive light showers of rain accompanied with thunderstorms in two days. In total, Pune will receive 2.5 to 15.5 mm rains. Thursday (June 25) onward the city will receive heavy rains."
