Pune: Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) on Monday declared revised dates for state civil service prelims examination. The MPSC prelim examination, which was scheduled to be held on October 11, last year will now be held on March 14, 2021 (Sunday).

The Maharashtra State Services examination will be held for the recruitment in various departments to the posts such as, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deputy Collector, Superintendent State Excise Department, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Block Development Officer (BDO) and Tahsildar.

After the prelims date was announced many students expressed a sigh of relief. Mahesh Gharbude, one of the students said, “Students will now be relieved that MPSC has declared the schedule of all the three exams. We have been waiting for the decision for last several months. We expect the Commission to make no change in the schedule now.”

Recently, when Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) declared to control attempts for students for its competitive examinations, students preparing for these exams are upset. Many student organisations have written a letter directly to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on to rethink about this decision.

According to the new order, OBC candidates will have nine attempts while there won’t be any limit for attempts for SC and ST category candidates. Candidates from the open category will have six attempts.
