Pune: Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and current Opposition Leader Devendra Fadnavis slammed the MVA (MahaVikasAghadi) government led by Uddhav Thackeray after Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Thursday wasn’t allowed to board the state government aircraft to visit Dehradun.

Devendra Fadnavis who visited Pune to review Pune Municipal Corporation’s projects talking to media persons said, “It is an unfortunate incident that took place with the Governor. He is the head of the state. He was supposed to be allowed to board the plane as it is not anybody’s private property. A letter in the case was already given to GDA yesterday. The file to get permission for air travel had gone to the Chief Secretary and the Chief Minister's Office. However, no decision was taken till the end and the Governor was taken off the plane at that time.

“It is incorrect to ask the head of the state to get off the plane. I have never witnessed such an egoistic government in the history of Maharashtra. The act was done purposely,” he added.

According to the reports, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was slated to visit Dehradun on Thursday by a state government aircraft, however, when he reached Mumbai Airport, he was reportedly told that there was no permission for him to board the flight. The reasons why he was denied consent are still unknown.

Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday reached Pune to review development works undertaken by the BJP-ruled Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). His visit to Pune comes after BJP Corporators from the city were present for the two-day party workshop held in Thane.
